NORTH READING LEARN TO SKATE HAS PARTNERED WITH
NORTH SHORE SKATING CLUB!!
The North Shore Skating Club has had over 60 years of experience teaching beginners as well as advanced skaters ages four and up. It has been recognized yearly by US Figure Skating as one of the foremost group lesson programs in the country. Whether you are interested in becoming a competitive figure skater, a hockey player, or just want to be able to skate recreationally, our group lesson program will teach you the skills necessary to achieve your goals.
Our program is taught by professional instructors, offers limited class sizes, and uses the United States Figure Skating Basic Badge Program. Skaters who apply for our lesson program will be considered North Shore Skating Club Junior Club members and will be registered with US Figure Skating through June 30, 2010.
All of our classes are 25 to 30 minutes long with a 25 to 30 minute practice time either preceding or following the class.
WHERE TO BEGIN
Skaters who have never skated before or who have never taken formal skating lessons should enter our program at the Snowplow Sam 1 or Basic 1 level. Snowplow Sam 1 is the starting point for skaters ages 4 through 7. Basic 1 is the starting point for skaters ages 8 & up.
Skaters who have previously taken lessons or are already accomplished past the beginner level should check our website at www.nsskating.org to help them decide in which level they belong. After clicking on “Basic Skills Program,” skaters will find helpful information listed under “Class Descriptions and other useful information.”
Don’t worry if you think you may have placed yourself in the wrong level… our professional instructors will evaluate everyone on the first day and skaters will then be placed appropriately.
